DETROIT --The Detroit Red Wings will be seeking their fourth straight victory on Tuesday night when they host the Montreal Canadiens at Little Caesars Arena. Puck drop is set for 7 p.m., with broadcast coverage on Bally Sports Detroit and the Red Wings Radio Network (97.1 The Ticket in Detroit).

Detroit (7-3-2; 16 points) enters Tuesday's matchup against Montreal (5-6-1; 11 points) riding a three-game winning streak, its longest since stringing together five straight from Nov. 24 - Dec. 4, 2021.
"We have an identity that we're trying to form here," said Alex Nedeljkovic, who
made 27 saves in Sunday's 3-2 overtime road win against the New York Rangers.
"We've shown really good flashes of it so far this year. It's just about doing it every single night and even if you're not getting the results, it's still playing the right way. That's how you're gonna win most nights."

In the past three games, the Red Wings have outscored their opponents, 9-3, scoring three goals in each of those contests.
"This is how it's gonna have to look if we're gonna have any success at all," head coach Derek Lalonde said. "We need to get into these low-scoring games. It's about keeping it out more than putting it in."
Detroit's 2022 free-agent class is contributing to the club's early-season success. Through 12 games, Andrew Copp, Austin Czarnik, Dominik Kubalik, Matt Luff, David Perron, Ben Chiarot, Robert Hagg and Olli Maatta have combined for 41 points (16-25-41) and a plus-4 rating.

The Canadiens are 0-2-1 in the past three games, most recently falling, 6-4, to the Vegas Golden Knights on Saturday. Nick Suzuki (8-7-15), Cole Caufield (8-6-14) and Kirby Dach (2-8-10) have each tallied at least 10 points this season. Goalie Jake Allen, who stopped 37 shots in his last outing against the Red Wings, is 3-5-0 with a 3.28 goals-against average.
Detroit won the first matchup between the Original Six and Atlantic Division rivals,
defeating Montreal, 3-0, on Opening Night at Little Caesars Arena.

Lalonde gives updates on several injured players

Oskar Sundqvist (upper body) and Tyler Bertuzzi (upper body) joined their teammates for Tuesday's morning skate at Little Caesars Arena and, according to Lalonde, are getting closer to making their respective returns to the lineup.
"Sundqvist will be in the day-to-day," Lalonde said. "Bert, we are hoping to see in the West Coast trip so maybe that 7-10 day range. I'd probably put (Jake) Walman in that same 7-10 (range)."
Lalonde added that Filip Zadina (lower body) will be sidelined for 6-8 weeks, while Robby Fabbri (lower body) and Mark Pysyk (lower body) are "still in that Jan. 1-type range."
