Oskar Sundqvist Bio

Sundqvist got his name on the Stanley Cup in 2019 when he was a regular on the fourth line for the St. Louis Blues, contributing nine points (four goals, five assists) and playing solid defense. That came two years after Sundqvist had four points (one goal, three assists) in 18 games for the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2016-17 and played in two games in the 2017 playoffs but didn't get his name on the Cup when the Penguins won it because he didn't play enough regular-season games or dress during the Cup Final.

The Penguins selected Sundqvist in the third round (No. 81) of the 2012 NHL Draft after he had 53 points (21 goals, 32 assists) for Skellefteaís Under-18 team in Sweden. The native of Boden, Sweden, spent the next three seasons with Skelleftea in the Swedish Hockey League, winning the Le Mat Trophy as SHL playoff champions in 2014. That season, Sundqvist had 16 points (six goals, 10 assists) in 51 regular-season games and six points (four goals, two assists) in 13 playoff games.
