DETROIT -- The Detroit Red Wings' three-game winning streak came to an end as they fell to the Chicago Blackhawks, 4-0, at Little Caesars Arena on Saturday night.

Goalie Jonathan Bernier stopped 23 shots in the losing effort as the Red Wings dropped to 16-24-6 (38 points) on the season. Detroit will now hit the road for a back-to-back, two-game series against the Dallas Stars starting on Monday night at 7:30 p.m.
Patrick Kane had a goal and an assist, while Farmington Hills, Mich., native Alex DeBrincat added a goal, Vinnie Hinostroza tallied three assists and Malcolm Subban made 29 saves for the shutout as the Blackhawks improved to 21-19-5 (47 points) on the season.
"I thought tonight we didn't manage the puck and they got chances and scored because of that," Red Wings captain Dylan Larkin said. "We had our looks; we generated some o-zone grind, we weren't nearly hard enough on Subban, and we had a lot of chances on the power play and didn't put one in the net. It was kind of a game where we sat around and waited for something to happen, and it didn't for us tonight."

The Red Wings started strong and outshot the Blackhawks 10-5 in the opening period but could not convert on three power-play chances in the opening 20 minutes.
The first period was heading toward a scoreless conclusion until the Blackhawks capitalized on a turnover. Hinostroza stole the puck from defenseman Troy Stecher and found an open Kane who rifled the puck past Bernier with 20 seconds remaining to make it 1-0 heading into the intermission.
The score remained 1-0 until the 12:40 mark of the second period when DeBrincat was in the right place at the right time to extend the lead to 2-0. A shot from the point from defenseman Connor Murphy hit forward Brandon Hagel and bounced right to the stick of DeBrincat, who was able to score on the wide-open net.
Rookie forward Wyatt Kalynuk helped push the Blackhawks' lead to 3-0 after finishing a nice passing play from Kane and Hinostroza just 1:16 into the third period.
Detroit had an opportunity to break up the shutout with a 5-on-3 power play late in the game but could not covert and finished the game 0-for-6 with the man advantage.
The Red Wings begin their final 10-game stretch of the season with a visit to Dallas to begin a rare four-game stretch against the Stars. The back-to-back series at American Airlines Arena gets underway on Monday, followed by a series at Little Caesars Arena which starts on Thursday, April 22.
Monday's game will be broadcast nationally on NBCSN and Ken Kal and Paul Woods will have the call on the Red Wings Radio Network.
