If the environment of the Detroit Red Wings' Girls Hockey Jamboree is any indication, the future of women's hockey in metro Detroit is in very good hands.

On Saturday, more than 60 female minor hockey players, ages 10U-12U, participated in the annual event at the BELFOR Training Center inside Little Caesars Arena.
Since 2019, the youth hockey program has provided a fun, team-oriented setting for girls to partake in cross-ice games.
"The Red Wings are proud to partner with Warrior Hockey on our Hockey is for Everyone platform, providing access and equipment to children across Michigan," said Kevin Brown, director of community impact for Ilitch Sports + Entertainment. "Programs and events like the Girls Hockey Jamboree help propel the game of hockey forward through year-round, one-of-a-kind experiences and interactions with the Red Wings."

All participants received 60 minutes of on-ice instruction from Little Caesars AAA Hockey Girls program director Manon Rhéaume, as well as from several players from the Little Caesars 19U Girls 2022 National Championship team and select Ilitch Sports + Entertainment staff members.
In addition, every skater received a Warrior hockey stick and several promotional items, courtesy of Warrior Sports.
"It is our mission to ensure that female hockey athletes at every level of capability, position and age have access to premium equipment," said Warrior Sports CEO Cindy Abbott. "We believe that through participation in team sports, female athletes build confidence in, not only their physical capability on-ice, but become empowered to achieve their goals and drive to success throughout their lives off-ice."
Headquartered in Warren, Mich., Warrior Sports is a manufacturer of equipment, footwear and apparel for hockey and lacrosse athletes of all ages and abilities. For Warrior Sports hockey marketing manager Doug Todd, assisting the hometown NHL team grow the game is a valuable opportunity.
"We place the highest value on our continued partnership with the Red Wings, the Red Wings Community Impact Program and the Little Caesars Amateur Hockey Organization, because we're all working for the same purpose in metro Detroit and across Michigan," Todd said. "That purpose is to bring the great game of hockey to anyone and everyone who wants to play and experience the sport.
"Being based in Michigan is a huge source of pride for Warrior and cultivating the game in our own backyard with a great group of partners, like the Red Wings, is one of Warrior's core initiatives."
According to Abbott, helping young hockey players succeed is rewarding.
"The passion in these athletes fuels our continued effort to drive excellence in product innovation and customer service," Abbott said. "It is a true pleasure to support and partner with these girls as they accomplish their current and future goals both on and off-ice."
Through programs like the Girls Hockey Jamboree, the Red Wings are continually finding ways to support young hockey players and celebrate diversity, equity and inclusion within the sport.

Red Wings and Warrior Sports team up for Clark Park donation

In collaboration with Warrior Sports, the Red Wings also presented the 10U and 12U Clark Park Sharks girls' hockey teams with new Warrior sticks, gloves and apparel on March 2. Participants received tickets for the Women's History Night matchup between Detroit and the Arizona Coyotes at Little Caesars Arena the following week.

The Clark Park Coalition provides year-round programming for more than 1,200 Detroit youth, and it features the only regulation-sized outdoor ice hockey rink in Detroit.
