Canes to Deliver 450 Turkeys for Area Families

Cole and Willis to help distribute turkeys at Helping Hand Mission

RALEIGH, NC - The Carolina Hurricanes will deliver 450 turkeys to area families on Wednesday ahead of the coming Thanksgiving holiday. Hurricanes alumni Erik Cole and Shane Willis will be on hand at Helping Hand Mission in Raleigh at 11:30 a.m. to join team staff members in distributing the turkeys.

Canes Hockey Fights Cancer Game This Sunday

RALEIGH, NC - The Carolina Hurricanes will hold their annual Hockey Fights Cancer awareness night, sponsored by UNC REX Healthcare, on Sunday, Nov. 19, when the team hosts the New York Islanders at 5 p.m. Hurricanes coaches, broadcasters and team personnel will wear lavender ties during the game, and the team will wear special Hockey Fights Cancer lavender jerseys during its pre-game warm up. Cancer awareness, research and support groups will be on the PNC Arena concourse to speak with fans and promote their respective groups.

RALEIGH, NC - The 20th Annual Skate with the Canes event will take place on Sunday, January 7 at PNC Arena from 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Doors will open at 12:30 p.m. This event is one of the most interactive, all-access, behind-the-scenes, player-friendly events that the Carolina Hurricanes organization offers each year. It is a special Kids 'N Community Foundation fundraising event that allows fans and players to interact in an intimate environment by rotating through autographs, locker room photos and skating sessions in small groups of 200.
