Kids 'N Community Foundation Announces Canes 5k and Golf Tournament

Canes 5K to be held Sept. 10; Golf Tournament tees off Sept. 11

RALEIGH, NC - The Kids 'N Community Foundation today announced plans for its annual Canes 5k race and the 19th Annual Kids 'N Community Golf Tournament. By raising funds through events like the Canes 5k and Kids 'N Community Golf Tournament, the Foundation awarded $560,000 to 29 different children's charities and organizations in 2016-17.

Hurricanes, Darling Agree to Four-Year Deal

The Masterton Trophy is an annual award under the trusteeship of the Professional Hockey Writers' Association (PHWA) recognizing the National Hockey League player who best exemplifies perseverance, sportsmanship and dedication to hockey. The winner will be named at the 2017 NHL Awards to be held June 21 in Las Vegas.

Forward is among goal-scoring leaders during OHL Playoffs

RALEIGH, NC - Ron Francis, Executive Vice President and General Manager of the National Hockey League's Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has agreed to terms with forward Steven Lorentz on a three-year, entry-level contract. The deal will pay Lorentz $650,000 on the NHL level in 2017-18 and 2018-19 and $700,000 in 2019-20. On the American Hockey League (AHL) level, he would earn $60,000 per year. Lorentz receives a signing bonus of $185,000.
