Charity Drives

Every season, the Carolina Hurricanes host charity drives to provide organizations in the community with much-needed items.

Book Drive: Feb. 21-28

Donations will be accepted at the VIP entrance of PNC Arena during normal business hours and at all entrances during the Feb. 21, Feb. 25, and Feb. 28 home games. 

All fans who donate two (2) new or gently used books will be entered to win one of the following prizes:

  • Four tickets to a Carolina Hurricanes home game (must be on a mutually agreed-upon date)
  • Carolina Hurricanes replica jersey signed by the 2019-20 team
  • Carolina Hurricanes replica hockey stick signed by the 2019-20 team
  • Carolina Hurricanes replica hockey stick signed by Andrei Svechnikov #37
  • Martin Necas #88 autographed puck
  • Sebastian Aho #20 autographed puck

About the Recipients
Read and Feed's mission is to strengthen literacy skills among underserved elementary school children and provide meals in a nurturing neighborhood environment. Read and Feed serves approximately 600 children each year and provides over 33,000 books annually to children in the program. The Carolina Hurricanes Foundation awarded a $150,000 GOAL grant over 3 years to Read and Feed to fund weekly visits with their mobile unit to 20 neighborhood sites. Chatham Education Foundation strengthens communities in Chatham County, NC by partnering with community residents, businesses, and foundations to improve education opportunities for public school students. During the 2018-19 season, Chatham Education Foundation was awarded a $10,000 Game Changer Grant by the Carolina Hurricanes Foundation to fund the Books on Break program, giving 1,350 children access to books. Prescription Drug Take Back Night: Jan. 31

Fans are invited to bring unused or expired prescription drugs to PNC Arena in order to properly and safely dispose of them in partnership with the North Carolina Department of Justice, the NC Department of Health and Human Services, the SBI, and the Raleigh Police Department. Drop-off locations will be available at the south, east, west and VIP entrances of PNC Arena prior to the game.

Military Drive

The Carolina Hurricanes are hosting a Military Drive in conjunction with Military Appreciation Night on Sunday, Jan. 19. The Military Drive benefits military servicemen and women through a partnership with the USO of North Carolina and will take place from Saturday, Jan. 11 until Sunday, Jan. 19. All fans who donate will be entered to win one of the below prizes.

The most-needed items are:

  • Granola bars
  • Chewing gum
  • Beef jerky
  • Bottled water

Donations will be accepted at the VIP entrance of PNC Arena during normal business hours and at all entrances on the Jan. 11, Jan. 17 and Jan. 19 game nights. Fans who donate one of the above items will be entered to win one of the following prizes:

  • Four (4) tickets to a Carolina Hurricanes and a post-game meet and greet with select Hurricanes players (must be on a mutually-agreed upon date)
  • Carolina Hurricanes replica alternate jersey signed by the 2019-20 team

About the Recipient

The USO of North Carolina supports military service men and women throughout North Carolina by providing support services and programs to alleviate emotional, psychological and financial stress. With five centers statewide, USO-NC supports an average of 650,000 troops annually.

Toy Drive

The 2019 Toy Drive has passed!

The Carolina Hurricanes are hosting a Toy Drive presented by Buffalo Brothers benefitting Families Moving Forward and Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Triangle from Monday, Dec. 2 until Sunday, Dec. 8. Fans who donate one (1) new, unopened toy will receive a $10 coupon to Buffalo Brothers and will be entered to win a gameday experience or autographed prize courtesy of the Carolina Hurricanes.

Donations will be accepted at the VIP entrance of PNC Arena during normal business hours and at all entrances on the December 5 and December 7 Hurricanes home games. 
All fans who donate one (1) new, unopened toy will be entered to win one of the following:

  • Four (4) tickets to a Carolina Hurricanes game of your choice and an opportunity to watch warm-ups from the Hurricanes penalty box

Stock the Pantry Food Drive

The 2019 Stock the Pantry Drive has passed!

The Carolina Hurricanes are hosting a Stock the Pantry Food Drive presented by Harris Teeter benefitting Inter-Faith Food Shuttle and Urban Ministries of Wake County from Friday, November 1 until Friday, November 8. Fans who donate two (2) or more non-perishable food items will be entered to win an in-game experience or autographed prize!

Donations will be accepted at the VIP entrance of PNC Arena during normal business hours and at all entrances on the November 1, November 2, and November 7 home games.

The Inter-Faith Food Shuttle is a hunger relief organization that aims to fix hunger by creating sources of healthy food in every low-income neighborhood and grow opportunities for people to provide for themselves by learning job skills or growing their own food. The Inter-Faith Food Shuttle serves seven counties in and around the Triangle (Wake, Durham, Orange, Johnston, Nash and Edgecombe.) For more information, please visit www.foodshuttle.org.

Toiletries Drive

The 2019 Toiletries Drive has passed!

Help your local community during the 20th annual Caniac Carnival! The Hurricanes will be collecting much-needed toiletries and other items to benefit Boys & Girls Homes of North Carolina and InterAct. The drive will take place during Caniac Carnival on Sunday, September 29th and donations will be accepted at all entrances of PNC Arena, in front of the box office, and inside the VIP entrance. Fans arriving prior to doors will be able to drop off items at the box office and the VIP entrance.

Items needed include:

  • Hair brushes
  • Body wash & soaps*
  • Lotions/Vaseline & deodorants*
  • Batteries (all sizes)

*Need full-sized items and a variety for all ages, skin types, and gender identities

All who donate will be entered to win one of the following prizes:

  • Four (4) tickets to a 2019-20 Hurricanes home game*
