DETROIT -- The 2022-23 NHL season is inching closer and closer.

Last Tuesday, Red Wings executive vice president and general manager Steve Yzerman announced that the club will return to Centre ICE Arena in Traverse City, Mich., to host the NHL Prospect Tournament and Training Camp, as well as the 2022 Training Camp Golf Outing at Traverse City Country Club.
The NHL Prospect Tournament returns to Traverse City for its 23rd season, running from Sept. 15 - 19. Detroit will host the Columbus Blue Jackets, Dallas Stars, St. Louis Blues and Toronto Maple Leafs for a multi-game round-robin.

The Red Wings will open their annual Training Camp with the 2022 Training Camp Golf Outing, presented by Suburban Imports of Farmington Hills, on Wednesday, Sept. 21. Proceeds from the event benefit Involved Citizens Enterprises (I.C.E.), a non-profit organization providing affordable skating programs to Northern Michigan.
The 2022-23 Red Wings will begin camp from Sept. 22-26, which will feature players, prospects and tryouts divided into teams that will practice and scrimmage throughout camp. A full camp roster and complete schedule will be announced at a later date.
Advance tickets for the upcoming Red Wings events in Traverse City will be available online and will be sold first-come, first-served at the arena entrance on the day of each event.

Dylan Larkin to participate in 2022 Ally Challenge Celebrity Shootout

After participating in the Rocket Mortgage Classic Area 313 Celebrity Scramble last month, Red Wings captain Dylan Larkin will again trade his hockey sticks in for golf clubs.

Larkin, a Waterford, Mich., native, will play in 2022 Ally Challenge Celebrity Shootout, an annual four-hole team scramble exhibition that will be held on Aug. 27 at Warwick Hills Golf & Country Club in Grand Blanc, Mich.
This year's event will feature PGA legend Jack Nicklaus, as well as the following Michigan natives: two-time Super Middleweight World Champion boxer Anthony Dirrell; U.S. Adaptive Open champion golfer Kim Moore; and ESPN analyst, 13-year NBA star and member of the "Fab Five" Jalen Rose.
The remaining field for the Celebrity Shootout will be announced leading up to the scramble.

Former Little Caesars AAA Hockey Club 19U Girls head coach Rocky Thompson hired by Flyers

On July 28, the Philadelphia Flyers announced that they hired former Little Caesars AAA Hockey Club 19U Girls head coach Rocky Thompson as an assistant coach.
Last season, Thompson led Little Caesars to its first-ever Chipotle-USA Hockey Tier I Girls 19U National Championship.

Prior to Little Caesars, Thompson spent the 2020-21 season as an associate coach for the San Jose Sharks under Bob Boughner's staff. Boughner was
named the Red Wings associate coach on July 8.
