DETROIT -- The 2022 International Ice Hockey Federation World Championship is an opportunity for prospects to showcase their development, and the Detroit Red Wings have several to keep an eye on throughout the second week of the international tournament.

All nine Detroit prospects are advancing to the quarterfinal round, which will begin on Wednesday at Rogers Place in Edmonton.
Take a look at the notable results through the final preliminary-round games of the 10-team event:

UNITED STATES

Powered by forwards Carter Mazur and Red Savage, Team USA enters the quarterfinal round with a 4-0-0-0 record (12 points), good for first overall in Group B.

In Saturday's 7-0 win over Austria, Mazur had two goals while Savage recorded a goal and an assist.

CANADA

Defenseman Donovan Sebrango and goalie Sebastian Cossa helped Canada (4-0-0-0 overall, 12 points) place first in Group A preliminary-round standings.
Sebrango played 19 minutes in a 5-1 win over the Czech Republic last Saturday, then registered a team-leading 21:01 of ice time in Monday's 6-3 win over Finland.

Cossa did not play against the Czech Republic or Finland.

SWEDEN

Blueliners Simon Edvinsson and William Wallinder and forward Theodor Niederbach are continuing to shine for Sweden, which concluded the preliminary round with a 3-0-0-1 record (nine points).
Edvinsson and Niederbach both scored their first goals of the tournament in Friday's 6-0 win over Austria, while Wallinder logged 14:01 of ice time.

Two days later, Niederbach was named Sweden's Player of the Game in a 3-2 loss to the U.S., while Wallinder had an assist and Edvinsson led the team in ice time (22:44).
In Monday's 4-2 win over Germany, Niederbach recorded a helper while Wallinder registered 15:27 of ice time. Edvinsson did not play against Germany.

FINLAND

Defensemen Eemil Viro and Finland wrapped up the preliminary round with a 2-1-0-1 record (eight points).
Viro logged 15:55 of ice time in Sunday's 9-3 win over Slovakia, then earned a plus-1 rating in 16:43 of ice time in Monday's loss to Canada.

CZECH REPUBLIC

Netminder Jan Bednar and the Czech Republic finished with a 1-0-1-2 preliminary-round record (four points).
Bednar did not play in Saturday's loss to Canada, but he made 10 saves the next day in a 5-2 loss to Latvia.
