DETROIT - Detroit Red Wings executive vice president and general manager Steve Yzerman today announced that the Red Wings will return to Centre ICE Arena in Traverse City, Mich., to host the NHL Prospect Tournament and Training Camp, as well as the 2022 Training Camp Golf Classic at the Traverse City Country Club.

The NHL Prospect Tournament returns to Traverse City for its 23rd season, running from Thursday, Sept. 15 to Monday, Sept. 19, with a five-team field set to compete this year. The Red Wings will host the Columbus Blue Jackets, Dallas Stars, St. Louis Blues and Toronto Maple Leafs for five-straight days of round-robin action, with each team playing either three or four games.
Over the tournament's history, 728 players have moved on to play in at least one NHL game, including 19 who played for the Red Wings in 2021-22: Tyler Bertuzzi, Kyle Criscuolo, Robby Fabbri (St. Louis), Taro Hirose, Filip Hronek, Dylan Larkin, Gustav Lindstrom, Alex Nedeljkovic (Carolina), Chase Pearson, Michael Rasmussen, Lucas Raymond, Daniel Renouf, Moritz Seider, Gemel Smith (Dallas), Givani Smith, Marc Staal (NY Rangers), Joe Veleno, Jake Walman (St. Louis) and Filip Zadina.
The Red Wings will open their annual NHL Training Camp with the 2022 Training Camp Golf Classic, presented by Suburban Imports of Farmington Hills, on Wednesday, Sept. 21, at the Traverse City Country Club. Proceeds from the tournament benefit Involved Citizens Enterprises (I.C.E.), a 501(c)3 non-profit organization providing affordable skating programs to Northern Michigan.
Golf participants will enjoy a pre-round lunch before teaming up with a member of the Red Wings roster, coaching staff or management team for a 1:30 p.m. shotgun start. The round will be immediately followed by a post-golf VIP reception in which attendees can mingle with Red Wings players and personnel and have the opportunity to bid on unique silent and live auction packages, including sports memorabilia and much more.
The 2022-23 Red Wings hit the ice for the first time for Training Camp on the morning of Thursday, Sept. 22, and continue daily through Monday, Sept. 26. Red Wings players, prospects and tryouts will be divided into teams that will practice and scrimmage throughout camp, including the annual Red and White Game on Sunday, Sept. 25. Following the Red and White game, the team will remain in Traverse City and hold practice on Monday, Sept. 26 prior to breaking camp for Detroit to begin their preseason schedule.
