QUOTABLE

Seider on getting off to a positive start after the All-Star Break
"That's only the first step. We play them (Flyers) back-to-back, so it will be an interesting matchup for us. We obviously want to sweep them and get four points."
Seider on what was the key defensively during the Red Wings' strong third period
"Shutting them down. We had the lead going into the third, and you don't want to give them anything. I think we did a really good job during 60 minutes here."
Jeff Blashill on what he took away from the victory
"I liked the fact that we really didn't give them much in the third, and we've been in that position lots and not always played the type of hockey you need to play. I thought we did a pretty good job of keeping some pressure on them without giving them the power play."
Blashill on Detroit's growth in shutting down opponents late
"Hopefully we're in that spot a lot and we're going to have those challenges and more than not, we need to succeed in them. I believe in taking steps in the right direction and as few steps in the wrong direction as possible. I thought that third was a good step in the right direction."
