Detroit sends Smith to Guelph

Preseason roster down to 60

DETROIT -The Detroit Red Wings today assigned right wing Givani Smith to the Ontario Hockey League's Guelph Storm.

The Red Wings' roster currently sits at 33 forwards, 20 defensemen and seven goaltenders as the team prepares for its preseason opener tonight against the Boston Bruins at 7:00 p.m. Detroit is also in action on the road tomorrow against the Pittsburgh Penguins (7:00 p.m.) and on Thursday against the Chicago Blackhawks (8:00 p.m.). The Red Wings will return to the state-of-the-art Little Caesars Arena on Saturday, Sept. 23 to host the Bruins at 7:00 p.m.
