TORONTO - When the 2017 CIBC Canada Russia Series takes place next month, the Red Wings will be well-represented.
Team Canada has used this series for the past 14 years as part of its evaluation process in choosing a team for the IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship,, which will take place in Buffalo, New York, from Dec. 26, 2017 to Jan. 5, 2018.

On Tuesday, the Western Hockey League announced its roster for the series.
Team WHL will play Team Russia in Game 1 in Moose Jaw, Sask., on Monday, Nov. 6 and Game 2 in Swift Current, Sask., on Tuesday, Nov. 7.
Among the players named were forward Michael Rasmussen, the Wings' first-round pick, ninth overall, in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft and defenseman Dennis Cholowski, the Wings' first-round pick, 20th overall, in the 2016 draft.
Rasmussen is currently playing for the Tri-City Americans and Cholowski is with the Prince George Cougars.
Rasmussen has four goals, five assists and is plus-3 in seven games with Tri-City. Cholowski has four goals, five assists and is plus-4 in eight games with Prince George.
On Wednesday, the Ontario Hockey League named its team for the series.
Team OHL faces the Russian National Junior team in Game 3 in Owen Sound on Thursday, Nov. 9 and Game 4 in Sudbury on Monday, Nov. 13.
Of the 28 OHL players selected, 11 will play in both games.
Among the players named were forward Givani Smith, the Wings' second-round pick, 46th overall, in the 2016 draft, and defenseman Jordan Sambrook, the Wings' fifth-round pick, 137th overall, in the 2016 draft.
Smith is currently playing for the Guelph Storm and Sambrook is with the Erie Otters.
Smith has not played this season due to an ankle injury but he had 26 goals and 18 assists in 64 games last season.
Sambrook has two goals, two assists and is plus-5 in 10 games with Erie this season.
Smith and Sambrook are two of the 11 playing in both games.
Rasmussen, Cholowski and Smith were all part of Team Canada during the World Junior Summer Showcase in Plymouth, Mich., in August.
Sambrook is a new addition.
The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League announced its roster on Thursday.
Team QMJHL will play Team Russia in Game 5 in Charlottetown, P.E.I., on Tuesday, Nov. 14 and in Game 6 in Moncton, N.B., on Thursday, Nov. 16.
