The Detroit Red Wings will host the Arizona Coyotes for Hockey Fights Cancer Night on Friday at Little Caesars Arena. Puck drop between Detroit (10-5-4; 24 points) and Arizona (7-9-2; 16 points) is set for 8 p.m. on Bally Sports Detroit and the Red Wings Radio Network (97.1 The Ticket in Detroit).

"We're once again asking Red Wings fans to rally together for children affected by cancer in our community and beyond," said Kevin Brown, Ilitch Sports + Entertainment director of community impact. "Through generous support from Comerica Bank, as well as proceeds from our week-long auction and several in-arena initiatives, we're raising awareness and pushing one step closer to finding a cure to defeat this awful disease."

Detroit kicked off a season-long five-game homestand on Wednesday by blanking the Nashville Predators, 3-0.
With the victory, the Red Wings reached the 10-win mark in their 19th game of the season, marking the fastest the club has reached double-digit wins since going 10-4-5 to open the 2014-15 campaign.
"Guys played well," said Red Wings goalie Ville Husso, who stopped all 26 shots he faced on Wednesday for his NHL-leading third shutout of the season. "Blocked shots, especially in the third period. It's just good to see. But we still need to get better, and I think everybody knows that. There's still a lot of games ahead of us."

The win also extended Detroit's winning streak to three straight in regulation, matching a season-high lasting from earlier this month.
Head coach Derek Lalonde said he hopes Detroit's strong special teams play against the Predators will carry over into Friday's contest.
"Special teams bailed us," Lalonde said. "Gave us huge momentum. A pretty good third period, our best period was our third. Even telling the guys, I wanna get to a point where we can judge ourselves on performance over outcome."
Arizona snapped a four-game losing streak on Wednesday with a 4-0 victory over the Carolina Hurricanes. Coyotes netminder Karel Vejmelka made 36 saves for his second shutout in as many weeks, improving his record to 6-5-1 with a 2.98 goals-against average. Clayton Keller leads Arizona with 12 assists and 19 points, while Lawson Crouse (9-2-11) has three goals in his past two games.
The Red Wings and Coyotes will meet again at Mullett Arena in Tempe, Ariz., on Jan. 17, 2023.

On Wednesday, Detroit claimed goaltender Magnus Hellberg off waivers from the Seattle Kraken.
The 31-year-old Hellberg has split this season between the Ottawa Senators and Kraken. He appeared in one game with the Red Wings in 2021-22, stopping 20 shots in a 5-3 victory at New Jersey on April 29.
