Two members of the Pittsburgh Penguins organization, Katerina Wu, senior data analyst, and Jaden Lindo, community hockey programs manager of the Penguins Foundation, were both selected as Pittsburgh Business Times' 30 Under 30 honorees, it was announced today.
The 30 Under 30 awards recognize young business and community leaders in the region who are already making an impact, all before reaching the age of 30. A panel of judges made up of the previous year's winners select the winners based on their professional successes and overall contributions to the community.

Wu, 24, was named as a data analyst during the 2020-21 season and works in the Penguins' hockey operations department designing and implementing new statistics to evaluate player and team performance. She was the first woman on the scouting and evaluation side of the Penguins' hockey operations department.
Wu received her bachelor's degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2020, where she majored in economics and minored in statistics and computer science. Prior to joining the Penguins, Wu was a part of several sport analytics programs, including Carnegie Mellon University's Sports Analytics Camp in 2019 and Hockey Graphs Mentorship Program in 2019-20. She also completed an internship with SportsMEDIA Technology (SMT) in 2020, the company that provides the NHL with puck and player tracking data.
Lindo, 27, was named as the Penguins Foundation's manager of community hockey programs in 2021. His responsibilities include oversight of the Willie O'Ree Academy, planning diversity programming at the Highmark Hunt Armory ice rink and other hockey programs for Pittsburgh youth at city community centers.
Lindo works year-round with the Willie O'Ree Academy, a first-of-its kind program, by providing social resources, off-season training and networking opportunities for local Black youth hockey players. Lindo also oversees free skating and hockey programs at the Hunt Armory, the first public hockey rink built in the city in almost 25 years and provides year-round introductory programming for Pittsburgh city residents, in partnership with Citiparks.
Lindo is a former Penguins draft pick in 2014 and played collegiate hockey at Queens University in Kingston, Ontario while receiving his bachelor's degree in Health Studies and a graduate diploma in Business. Lindo was also the subject of "Soul on Ice," the 2015 documentary on the history and future of Black hockey players.
