GAME PREVIEW

The Penguins are returning home for a brief two-game homestand beginning today against the Detroit Red Wings and concluding on Tuesday against the NY Rangers. Tonight's game is the Her Hockey Game, presented by 84 Lumber. Pittsburgh enters tonight's game riding a three-game home winning streak, their longest such streak since they won eight-straight from Dec. 11-Jan. 25. Since head coach Mike Sullivan took over the Penguins' bench on Dec. 12, 2015, Pittsburgh has been dominant at PPG Paints Arena. Pittsburgh's 165 home wins in that span are the most in the league.

QUICK HITS

Jake Guentzel, who is second on the team with 64 points (31G-33A), is currently one of 13 players in the league with 30-plus goals and 30-plus assists.
Home games against Detroit have historically been high-scoring affairs for Pittsburgh. In their last 11 home contests versus the Red Wings dating back to April 9, 2014, the Penguins have scored four or more goals eight times, including four of the last five games.
The Penguins have wins in three-straight home games. A win tonight could give them their second home winning streak of four or more games (8-0-0 from Dec. 11-Jan. 25).
Only Dallas' Esa Lindell (6) has more shorthanded points than Brian Dumoulin (5) at home since the 2017-18 season.

TRUST IN RUST

Bryan Rust has been phenomenal this season on home ice, recording 15 goals, 16 assists and 31 points in 21 games at PPG Paints Arena.
Rust's 15 goals at home lead all Penguins, while his 31 points are second to only Sidney Crosby's 33.
His 0.71 goals per game and 1.48 points per game at home both rank sixth in the league.
