DETROIT -- For the first time in recent memory, Detroit Red Wings head coach Derek Lalonde was not pleased with the brand of hockey his club played despite outlasting the Winnipeg Jets, 7-5, on Tuesday night at Little Caesars Arena.

Lalonde acknowledged that while Detroit ultimately succeeded in snapping its three-game losing streak, the Red Wings (17-15-7; 41 points) were "very fortunate" to earn two points against the Jets (26-14-1).
"I'm taken aback with how poorly we played with how well we've played of late, as crazy as it sounds, without getting results," Lalonde said. "Bottom line is we were looking to find a win. We did that."
Moritz Seider paced Detroit with a career-high four-point night, becoming the first Red Wings defenseman to record four assists in a game since Mike Green on Oct. 5, 2017.
"It was not our best," said Seider, who is also the first Detroit blueliner to register three helpers in a single period since Nicklas Lidstrom on March 23, 1998. "But I think tomorrow we will turn the page and look at the result with a big smile on our face. It was a big win for us. We dug ourselves into a little bit of a hole in the last couple of games, but found a way to get out of there tonight."
Jake Walman, Jonatan Berggren and Oskar Sundqvist all scored first-period goals for Detroit, which led, 3-1, heading into the first intermission. After Dominik Kubalik and captain Dylan Larkin found the back of the net in the second, Robby Fabbri scored early in the final frame to put the Red Wings ahead, 6-4. Lucas Raymond added an empty-netter with 1:20 remaining to cap off the scoring, finishing with his seven multi-point game of the season.
Ville Husso made 32 saves for Detroit, which improved to 10-8-3 on home ice.
"I feel like we've lost games where we've played a lot better," Raymond said. "To be able to get a win when we're not top performing was huge."
NEXT UP: The Red Wings will play the second of a three-game homestand on Thursday night against the Original Six rival Toronto Maple Leafs. The first 7,500 fans to arrive at Little Caesars Arena will receive a Knit Scarf, presented by MotorCity Casino Hotel.
REMINDER: Three remaining players per division - two skaters and one goaltender - will be selected as part of the 2023 NHL All-Star Fan Vote, which is now open at

and closes on Tuesday, Jan. 17. Larkin was named to the initial 32-man roster for the 2023 NHL All-Star Game, which will be held at FLA Live Arena on Saturday, Feb. 4.

QUOTABLE

Lalonde on what he liked from Tuesday's win
"I liked that we scored and that we won the game. Maybe our worse game of the year. I'm not gonna take away from the win. Maybe it's on me. They (Red Wings) looked absolutely gassed."
Seider on what clicked defensively against the Jets
"Just shut it down. I think we've done that most of the year. We've played really solid defensively up to this point. I think we will just watch some tape, learn from our mistakes and get better defensively next game."
Seider on if he's turning a corner on offense
"I hope so, maybe. I just come to the rink with a smile on my face everyday. It just worked out tonight."
