COLUMBUS -- After concluding a season-long five-game homestand, the Detroit Red Wings will hit the road for a matchup against the Columbus Blue Jackets on Sunday evening at Nationwide Arena.

Puck drop between Detroit (11-7-5; 27 points) and Columbus (8-12-2; 18 points) is set for 6 p.m. on Bally Sports Detroit Extra and the Red Wings Radio Network (WWJ Newsradio 950 in Detroit).
After falling, 4-1, to the Vegas Golden Knights on Saturday
, head coach Derek Lalonde believes the Red Wings learned plenty about themselves during their recent stretch at Little Caesars Arena.
"If you look back on it, it's a little frustrating and a little bit of a reality in where we're at," Lalonde said. "The guys compete with their will and want right now. But if you look at the homestand, we go 2-0-1 on three teams sitting outside the playoff bubble. Then, we go 0-2 versus two elite teams. We need to flip that a little bit."

The Red Wings enter Sunday's game with a 2-0 record in the second game of back-to-backs. And for captain Dylan Larkin, starting a "big trip" on a high note will go a long way for Detroit.
"We've been good on back-to-backs," Larkin said. "We need to come out and play a solid road game."
Columbus is coming off a 4-1 win at Winnipeg on Friday. Patrick Laine (4-2-6), who missed the past seven games with an ankle injury, scored two goals against the Jets to help the Blue Jackets snap a three-game losing streak.
Johnny Gaudreau (8-17-25) has three goals and 13 assists in his past 10 games, while Columbus goalie Joonas Korpisalo is 4-4-1 with a 3.43 goals-against average this season.
The Red Wings won the first matchup against the Blue Jackets this season
, using a three-goal second-period to pull away, 6-1, on Nov. 19.
