The Pittsburgh Penguins have recalled defenseman Derrick Pouliot from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League, it was announced today by executive vice president and general manager Jim Rutherford.

Pouliot, 23, has split this season between the NHL and AHL, producing 14 points (5G-9A) and a plus-6 in 32 AHL games with WBS. Over his last 13 games, he has six points (4G-2A) and is plus-3. He has also skated in seven NHL contests with Pittsburgh.
The 6-foot, 208-pound Pouliot has 61 points (18G-43A) in 100 career AHL regular-season games with WBS, and he has 14 points (2G-12A) in 63 career NHL regular-season games with Pittsburgh.
Pittsburgh completes a brief two-game road trip tonight in Chicago against the Blackhawks at the United Center. NBC Sports Network will carry the game at 8 PM, and you can also listen on the Penguins' official flagship station, 105.9 The X.
