Young Named Assistant Coach for 2018 US Men's Olympic Hockey Team

Scott Young has enjoyed quite the summer in 2017. First, the former Penguins right wing was elected to the United States Hockey Hall of Fame as a member of the Class of 2017. Then, on July 28, he was added to the Penguins' hockey operations staff as director of player development.

For the second-straight year, the back-to-back champion Pittsburgh Penguins will play in the first nationally broadcast game of the season on NBC Sports Network, Pittsburgh's home opener against the St. Louis Blues on Wednesday, October 4 at 8:00PM at PPG Paints Arena.

Pens to debut Stanley Cup Championship DVD at exclusive event

The Penguins will debut their 2017 Stanley Cup Championship DVD at an exclusive event for season ticket holders on Monday, July 24 at PPG Paints Arena. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the DVD will begin at 7 p.m.

Season ticket holders are reminded to go to their online accounts and print out their free tickets. The DVD premiere event is not open to the general public.

Sidney Crosby added another trophy to his mantle on Wednesday night when he won his eighth ESPY Award as the Best NHL Player. The award was announced during the 25th anniversary ESPYs Show, which was held at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.

The acronym ESPY stands for Excellence in Sports Performance Yearly Award. ESPYs recognize individual and team athletic achievement and other sports-related performance during the calendar year preceding a given annual ceremony.
