NEW YORK/PITTSBURGH (Feb. 25, 2017) - As a legacy to the 2017 Coors Light
NHL Stadium SeriesTM, the National Hockey League (NHL®), Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation, and PPG held a ceremonial check presentation at the outdoor game, donating $100,000 to the South Park Ice Skating Rink, a local outdoor rink in Allegheny County.

Train to Take Stage for Stadium Series at Heinz Field

The National Hockey League (NHL) is pleased to announce that Grammy-winning, multi-platinum-selling band Train will now entertain fans at the 2017 Coors Light NHL Stadium Series™, the much-anticipated regular-season outdoor game between the Pittsburgh Penguins and Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday, Feb. 25, at Heinz Field - home of the NFL's Pittsburgh Steelers. The primetime matchup, including the band's first intermission performance, will be broadcast live from Pittsburgh at 8 p.m. ET in the U.S. on NBC and in Canada on Sportsnet and TVA Sports 2.

Penguins Acquire Defenseman Ron Hainsey

Trevor Daley Undergoes Successful Knee Surgery

Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Trevor Daley underwent successful knee surgery, it was announced today by Penguins executive vice president and general manager Jim Rutherford. 

Daley underwent an arthroscopic surgery to his left knee, with the surgery performed by Penguins head physician Dr. Dharmesh Vyas. He will be sidelined six weeks.

Daley was injured during the first period of Pittsburgh's 3-1 win in Carolina on Tuesday night.

Free Public Events During Stadium Series Week

The Penguins have a number of free fan activities planned this week in advance of the NHL Stadium Series Game with the Philadelphia Flyers Saturday night at Heinz Field.

Included will the arrival in Pittsburgh later this week of the NHL's Centennial Tour, a highlight of the league's 100th Anniversary Season. The main attraction is a 53-foot museum truck with innovative interactive digital displays, original video content, historic memorabilia and unique photo moments celebrating the history of the NHL and the Penguins.

Crosby Honored For 1000 Point Milestone Tomorrow

Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby became the 86th player in NHL history, and the fastest active skater, to reach 1,000 points when he set up a Chris Kunitz first-period goal on February 16 against the Winnipeg Jets at PPG Paints Arena.

The Penguins will honor Crosby's achievement with a brief pre-game ceremony before Sunday's 3 PM meeting at PPG Paints Arena against the Detroit Red Wings on NBC.

Sunday's Penguins-Red Wings tilt is the second game of a quadruple header of NHL action on NBC and NBC Sports Network as part of Hockey Day in America. The Penguins will also celebrate Hockey is for Everyone Day.

Archibald Re-Assigned to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton

The Pittsburgh Penguins have re-assigned forward Josh Archibald to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League, it was announced today by executive vice president and general manager Jim Rutherford.

Archibald, 24, scored his first two goals for the Penguins on his first two NHL shots on Feb. 11 at Arizona. The tallies came in his second NHL game.

At the AHL level this year, Archibald has established career highs with 11 goals, 11 assists and 22 points in 48 games for WBS.

NEW YORK (Feb. 17, 2017) - Multi-platinum Grammy-nominated global band OneRepublic will headline the entertainment for the 2017 Coors Light NHL Stadium Series™, the much-anticipated regular-season outdoor game between the Pittsburgh Penguins and Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday, Feb. 25, at Heinz Field - home of the NFL's Pittsburgh Steelers. The primetime matchup, including the band's first intermission performance, will be broadcast live from Pittsburgh at 8 p.m. ET in the U.S. on NBC and in Canada on Sportsnet and TVA Sports 2.

Joining OneRepublic for the game day entertainment will be acclaimed Icelandic rock band Kaleo, who will perform on Stage AE's outdoor music stage at The PreGame - the official tailgate party of the 2017 Coors Light 
NHL Stadium Series™ - before fans head into Heinz Field for the game. The two-day, hockey-themed fan festival at Stage AE and in the parking lot across from Heinz Field will be free and open to the public. The band's set at Stage AE will begin at 6:15 p.m. ET before the 8 p.m. ET start to the game inside Heinz Field. A portion of the performance will air during the nationally televised game.
