Penguins Re-Assign Defenseman Frank Corrado to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton

The Pittsburgh Penguins have re-assigned defenseman Frank Corrado to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League, it was announced today by executive vice president and general manager Jim Rutherford.

Corrado, who played in three NHL games with Pittsburgh, returns to a WBS squad that owns the AHL's best record at 11-2-1 this year. Those numbers include an active 11-game point streak (10-0-1) for WBS.

The WBS Penguins are next in action this Wednesday, November 22, when they host Lehigh Valley.

The Pittsburgh Penguins have acquired forward Riley Sheahan and a 2018 fifth-round draft pick from the Detroit Red Wings in exchange for forward Scott Wilson and a 2018 third-round draft pick, it was announced today by executive vice president and general manager Jim Rutherford. 

Sheahan is signed through the 2017-18 season and he carries an average annual value of $2,075,000.

Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation Joins Prescription Drug Safety Network

The Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation today announced it is joining the Prescription Drug Safety Network, a nationwide coalition committed to empowering Americans with the skills to make safe and healthy decisions about prescription drug use for themselves, their families, and their communities.  

"Our belief is that kids are the future, and we strive to not only give kids a vibrant and rewarding future, but to ensure that future is a healthy one," adds Dave Soltesz, President of the Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation. "Seventy-eight people die each day from opioid overdose, and another 20.8 have substance use disorder. This is a pandemic which needs immediate help, and our goal is to see that number decrease with each program taught."
