Costume Contest to Highlight "Halloween Theme Night" on Oct. 30 vs. NYI

A Halloween costume contest and other fun Halloween-themed activities will highlight the Penguins' first theme night of the season - "Halloween Theme Night" on Tuesday, October 30, when the Pens take on the New York Islanders at PPG Paints Arena. Game time is 7 p.m.

Fans sporting their best Halloween costumes will have the chance to go home with new Penguins jerseys. Two winners will be selected each period.

Pens Foundation, PittComm Team Up To Renovate A Local Community Rink

The Pittsburgh Penguins and Pittsburgh Commercial Construction (PittComm) are teaming up to provide up to $100,000 in goods and services to renovate a portion of a local community hockey rink this season - in a new contest called "Renovate the Rink."

From now until November 30, fans can nominate a community rink in Western Pennsylvania that deserves a renovation.

Justin Schultz Underwent Successful Surgery to Repair Left Leg Fracture

Pittsburgh Penguins defensemen Justin Schultz underwent successful surgery at UPMC Presbyterian to repair a fracture of his lower left leg on Sunday, it was announced today by executive vice president and general manager Jim Rutherford.

The surgery was performed by Dr. Dharmesh Vyas, the Penguins' head team physician and Dr. Alex Kline.

Schultz is expected to miss the next four months. He suffered the injury in the first period on Saturday night when the Penguins played the Montreal Canadiens at the Bell Centre.

Penguins Recall Forward Derek Grant

The Pittsburgh Penguins have recalled forward Derek Grant from the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the American Hockey League, it was announced today by executive vice president and general manager Jim Rutherford.

Goaltender Tristan Jarry has been re-assigned to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.

Grant, 28, was part of Pittsburgh's opening-night roster, but was sent to WBS to accommodate Jarry's promotion. Grant made his lone appearance for WBS in Saturday's 4-1 victory in Cleveland, scoring once and finishing plus-2.

"In The Room" Wins Fifth Straight Emmy

The Pittsburgh Penguins' all-access "In The Room" video series received an Emmy Award for the fifth straight year at the 2018 NATAS Mid-Atlantic Emmy Awards gala in Philadelphia Saturday night.

"In The Room", which is presented by RAM Trucks, gives fans a unique behind-the-scenes look at Penguins hockey, both on and off the ice, with monthly shows throughout the season.

Those responsible for ITR's fifth straight Emmy for "best sports series program" were Jon Otte, Andrew McIntyre, Cody Shuckhart, Leo McCafferty, Ryan Mill, Mike Davenport, Meghan McManimon, Mark Cottington, Aaron Spiegel, Dave Distilli, Ethan Mansberger and Rod Murray.

Pens to Honor 25th Anniversary Of The Mario Lemieux Foundation on Nov. 15

Penguins Unveil New Third Jerseys

The Pittsburgh Penguins today unveiled their new third jerseys, featuring a dynamic gold background with black sleeves and white and gold striping. 

The new "thirds," created by adidas, will be worn for the first time on Thursday, November 15, when the Penguins take on the Tampa Bay Lightning at PPG Paints Arena.

They also will go on sale for the first time on November 15 and will be available exclusively at PensGear stores for a five-day period from November 15-19.
