The Pittsburgh Penguins have signed forward Andrei Kuzmenko to a one-year contract, it was announced today by President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Kyle Dubas.

The contract runs through the 2026-27 season and carries an average annual value of $5 million.

Kuzmenko, 30, recently completed his fourth season in the NHL, spending this past season with the Los Angeles Kings. The 5-foot-11, 200-pound forward had 25 points (13G-12A) in 52 games with the Kings. The forward’s 13 goals were tied for fifth on his team and his eight power-play goals led the Kings.

The undrafted skater has played four seasons in the NHL split between Vancouver, Calgary, Philadelphia and Los Angeles, skating in 271 career games, totaling 182 points (85G-97A). Kuzmenko has tallied six points (3G-3A) in seven career Stanley Cup Playoff games. In his rookie season with Vancouver in 2022-23, Kuzmenko set career highs with 81 games played, 39 goals, 35 assists and 74 points.

Prior to coming to North America, the Yakutsk, Russia native spent parts of eight seasons in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL), the top professional league in Russia, where he played in 315 career games and recorded 200 points (85G-115A) from 2014-22 between CSKA Moskva and SKA St. Petersburg.

The forward won a silver medal at the 2016 World Junior Championship with Team Russia.
