QUICK HITS

Pittsburgh has historically fared well on its Western Canada swing. Over the last 11 seasons that they've made the trip to Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver dating back to the 2007-08 season, they've gone 21-6-6 which includes a 8-3-4 record over the last five visits.
Pittsburgh earned points in 23 of its 32 games against the Western Conference last season. The Penguins' .641 winning percentage last season versus the West was the sixth-highest among all Eastern Conference teams. This season, the Penguins are 2-0 against Western Conference teams.
Evgeni Malkin has been successful in his career against the Oilers, notching 17 points (7G-10A). He has scored eight of his 17 points in nine games on the road.
Jeff Carter is first among active players in game-winning goals (6) against Edmonton. He has 37 points in 37 career games against Edmonton, recording 23 goals and 14 assists.
Sidney Crosby thrives when playing in his home country, as he's picked up points in 18 of his last 23 games in Canadian cities. In those 23 games which date back to Nov. 4, 2017 in Vancouver, Crosby has tallied 28 points (11G-17A).

LIGHTING THE LAMP

For the fourth time in five games this season, and for the second-consecutive game, the Penguins scored six goals in their 6-3 win in Columbus on Saturday. The Penguins are outscoring their opponents 26-11 through five games this season, with their plus-15 goal differential and 5.20 goals-per-game average both leading the league. Pittsburgh's 26 goals are the most any team in the NHL has scored since the 1993-94 season (LAK, 28; NJD, 27; TOR, 26). There has only been one season in franchise history when the Penguins scored more goals through their first five games than this year's 26.
