Pittsburgh earned points in 23 of its 32 games against the Western Conference last season. The Penguins' .641 winning percentage last season versus the West was the sixth-highest among all Eastern Conference teams. This season, the Penguins are 2-1-0 against Western Conference teams.
Tonight, the Penguins conclude their first set of back-to-back games in 2022-23. Last season, Pittsburgh went 13-5-4 in back-to-backs (8-2-1 on the first night and 5-3-3 on the second night).
Defenseman Marcus Pettersson appeared in his 300th NHL game last night in Edmonton. The Pittsburgh blueliner has appeared in 251 of his 300 games with the Penguins, recording 73 points (8G-65A) and is plus-43 with Pittsburgh.
Sidney Crosby thrives when playing in his home country, as he's picked up points in 19 of his last 24 games in Canadian cities. In those 24 games which date back to Nov. 4, 2017 in Vancouver, Crosby has tallied 29 points (12G-17A).
