The Pittsburgh Penguins made forward Tristan Broz from the Fargo Force as their top pick in the 2021 NHL Draft. Broz was selected with the 58th overall selection in the second round.

Entering the draft, Broz was the no. 28 ranked North American skater by NHL Central Scouting.
Broz, 18, has spent the two-plus season with the Fargo Force of the USHL, accumulating 90 points (34G-56A) in 108 games. In 2020-21, the Fargo alternate captain set career highs in goals (19), assists (32) and points (51), all of which were most on Fargo. He was one of just 14 players in the USHL to record 50 or more points.
A native of Bloomington, Minnesota, Broz led Fargo to the USHL Clark Cup Final in 2021 and finished second in scoring among all USHL players with 11 points (3G-8A) in nine games.
In his first full season in the USHL, the 6-foot, 178-pound Broz was named to the USHL All-Rookie Second Team in 2019-20 after finishing second on the Force, and fifth among all USHL rookies, with 35 points (14G-21A) in 48 games.
The left-handed shooting Broz is committed to the University of Minnesota for the 2021-22 season.
