The Pittsburgh Penguins have recalled goaltender Louis Domingue and defenseman Juuso Riikola (emergency basis) from the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the American Hockey League, it was announced today by general manager Ron Hextall.

Due to the travel schedule with back-to-back games, goaltender Tristan Jarry will not travel with Pittsburgh to Ottawa and will meet the team in Washington for Sunday's game against the Capitals.
Defensemen Chad Ruhwedel and Marcus Pettersson have been added to the NHL's COVID-19 Protocol List. Both players will be ineligible to play versus Ottawa on Saturday, November 13 due to the Canadian government's mandatory 14-day quarantine requirement following their previous positive tests for COVID-19.
Riikola, 28, has played in four games with Pittsburgh this season, recording one assist on Oct. 30 vs. New Jersey. In addition, the defenseman has played in three games with the WBS Penguins, tallying two assists.
The 6-foot-0, 189-pound blueliner played in two games for the Penguins during the 2020-21 campaign and practiced with the team's taxi squad for the majority of the year. The Joensuu, Finland native has dressed for 79 career NHL games, scoring three goals, 10 assists and 13 points with a plus-7.
Domingue, 29, has played in five games for the WBS Penguins this season, going 1-2-1 with a .921 save percentage and 2.43 goals-against average. The 6-foot-3, 208-pound Domingue spent the 2020-21 season in the Flames organization, splitting time between Calgary and the Stockton Heat of the American Hockey League. The goaltender spent the majority of last season on the Flames' taxi squad, plus suited up for one game with Calgary and three games in Stockton.
The Mont-Saint-Hilaire, Quebec native has played 140 games in the NHL over the past seven seasons with Arizona, Tampa Bay, New Jersey, Vancouver and Calgary. Domingue has compiled a 58-59-10 record at the NHL level with a 3.05 goals-against average, .904 save percentage and two shutouts.
