DETROIT – The Detroit Red Wings will officially begin their 101st NHL campaign with 2026-27 Opening Night, presented by Coca-Cola and Meijer, on Friday, Oct. 2 against the Original Six-rival New York Rangers at Little Caesars Arena, with puck drop set for 6:30 p.m.

The Red Wings open the Hockeytown 101 campaign with four straight home games, including a Sergei Fedorov Bobblehead giveaway, presented by Little Caesars, and Kids Day on Sunday, Oct. 4, We Are Hockeytown: Hispanic Heritage Night on Tuesday, Oct. 6 and We Are Hockeytown: Pride Night on Friday, Oct. 9. Friday, Oct. 2 vs. New York Rangers | Puck drop at 6:30 p.m.

Opening Night, presented by Coca-Cola and Meijer

Opening Night will begin with the annual fan-favorite Hockeytown Red Carpet Walk in the Chevrolet Plaza outside Little Caesars Arena, with fan arrival beginning at 2:30 p.m. The Hockeytown Red Carpet Walk is complimentary and is open to fans of all ages with or without game tickets, where attendees can interact with Red Wings players and coaches and get autographs on the red carpet.

Red Wings players and coaches will be escorted down the Red Carpet by youth participants from Detroit Red Wings Foundation partner organizations like Detroit PAL, Special Olympics Michigan, Clark Park Coalition, United Heroes League and more.

Little Caesars Arena doors open on Oct. 2 at 4:30 p.m., and before doors open, fans are welcome to visit the Little Caesars Arena restaurants. Once doors open, ticketed fans can enjoy photo opportunities and check out new Red Wings merchandise before puck drop at 6:30 p.m. Fans are encouraged to be in their seats by 6:15 p.m. to watch team introductions and this season’s pregame show.

Fans who can’t make it to Little Caesars Arena can watch Opening Night on TNT and TRU TV and can watch all season on the new TV home of Red Wings hockey, Detroit SportsNet. Fans can also purchase a Detroit SportsNet Annual Subscription now through Oct. 5 and receive two complimentary Red Wings tickets to an October home game.

Sunday, Oct. 4 vs. Winnipeg Jets | Puck drop at 1 p.m.

Sergei Fedorov Bobblehead Giveaway, presented by Little Caesars, Kids Day, Build-Your-Own Fit Crewneck Ticket Package, presented by Little Caesars, and Canadian Heritage Layered Hoodie Ticket Package

The first 7,500 fans in attendance on Oct. 4 receive a Sergei Fedorov Bobblehead, presented by Little Caesars. The Fedorov Bobblehead is part of a three-bobblehead series to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Detroit’s 2002 Stanley Cup win. Other bobblehead giveaways this season include Nicklas Lidstrom, presented by Henry Ford Health, on Oct. 29 and Scotty Bowman, presented by Meijer, on Nov. 18.

Oct. 4 is also Kids Day at Little Caesars Arena. For Kids Day, fans can purchase a $50 “Kids Eat Free” ticket package which includes a meal voucher for a choice of hot dog, chips and soft drink, pizza slice and soft drink or two chicken tenders, fries and soft drink. Other Kids Day activities include pregame entertainment from Tiny Turbos, performing in the Chevrolet Plaza from 11:45 a.m. – 12:15 p.m., balloon and airbrush artists, a Kids Club booth outside PORTAL 15, offering a new member kit, which includes an Octopus Brick Set and more.

Fans can also take advantage of two exciting ticket packages on Oct. 4, including a Build-Your-Own Fit Crewneck Package, presented by Little Caesars, and a Canadian Heritage Layered Hoodie Package.

Fans can build a Red Wings outfit with a five-part ticket package series this season. Fans who purchase the special ticket package on Oct. 4 receive a Red Wings crewneck as the first piece of the collection.  

Fans who purchase the special Canadian Heritage ticket package receive a Red Wings hoodie with the Canadian flag on the sleeve.

Tuesday, Oct. 6 vs. Ottawa Senators | Puck drop at 7 p.m.

We Are Hockeytown: Hispanic Heritage Night, presented by Ticketmaster, Book Club Night and Tigers Baseball Jersey Ticket Package

 Oct. 6 is the first of five “We Are Hockeytown” celebrations, presented by Ticketmaster, throughout the 2026-27 season as the Red Wings host Hispanic Heritage Night at Little Caesars Arena with special entertainment, exclusive merchandise and custom artwork by Detroit native Freddy Diaz (SW Freddy), the first artist of the “We Are Hockeytown” Artist Series.

Fans who purchase the special ticket package receive a Hispanic Heritage/Red Wings layered hoodie.

Oct. 6 is also Book Night at Little Caesars Arena as the Red Wings celebrate the release of Freida McFadden’s newest thriller, The Witch. Fans who purchase the special ticket package receive a deluxe hardcover edition of The Witch, a limited-edition Red Wings/The Witch co-branded crewneck and a chance to receive one of 200 signed McFadden bookplates randomly distributed throughout the books.

The Red Wings will honor the Detroit Tigers on Oct. 6, as fans who purchase the special ticket package receive a Red Wings baseball jersey.

We Are Hockeytown: Pride Night, presented by Ticketmaster, Educator Appreciation Night and Hello Kitty Bucket Hat Ticket Package

Oct. 9 is We Are Hockeytown: Pride Night, presented by Ticketmaster, at Little Caesars Arena. During Pride Night, fans visiting the Little Caesars Arena Team Store can purchase a limited-edition puck. An exclusive Commemorative Ticket will also be available online starting 24 hours before puck drop.

Additionally, as part of the “We Are Hockeytown” Artist Series, a surprise auction item will be unveiled on game day. More details will be shared on Red Wings social media channels. Mystery Autographed Pride pucks will also be for sale on the concourse and online, with proceeds benefiting Free Mom Hugs and the Detroit Red Wings Foundation.
