Penguins captain Sidney Crosby was named the NHL's First Star for the week of November 14, it was announced today by the NHL. This is the second time this season Crosby has been named the NHL's First Star of the Week, following the opening week of the season.

Through four total games last week where the Penguins went 3-1-0, Crosby recorded four goals, seven assists and 11 points, all NHL highs. Crosby's week included leading the Penguins to a perfect 3-0 road trip through Minnesota, Winnipeg and Chicago with multiple points in each game, including two four-point outings.
In Pittsburgh's 6-4 win against the Wild on Thursday, Crosby tallied two goals and two assists for his first multi-goal and four-point game of the season. Two nights later in Winnipeg, Crosby tallied another multi-assist game with two helpers in the Penguins' 3-0 shutout win against the Jets. On Sunday in Chicago, Crosby exploded for his second four-point game of the week (1G-3A), which included the game-winning goal to secure the victory in teammate Evgeni Malkin's 1,000th career game.
Crosby has recorded three or more points in five games this season, with two being four-point outings, which is tied with Edmonton's Connor McDavid and Colorado's Mikko Rantanen for the most in the NHL. Crosby's 164 career three-plus point games are the most among all active players, and is tied with Jari Kurri for the ninth-most in NHL history.
