Tracking The Storylines
Last Time To Shine: Today's roster is a mix of young guys, those seeking more game action and those on the bubble of making the team's opening night lineup. The contest will play a very important role in determining who is going to stick around, particularly in the team's final and extra forward spots. There appear to be five legitimate candidates for the two projected spots and all five know very well what's on the line.
Who To Watch:At the moment it appears as if the below group of players are those battling for the two roles: Steven Lorentz, Josh Leivo, Stefan Noesen, C.J. Smith and Seth Jarvis. Most of the Canes top-end players are not dressing today, so this is all about getting the above group as much ice time as possible to see who is going to stick.
Freddie's Turn:Rod Brind'Amour shared yesterday after practice that Frederik Andersen will get the start tonight. Whether he'll play the entire duration of the game remains to be seen. Maybe he will, maybe they'll make a change during the game. If it does happen, no need to be shocked or panic.
Expected Roster (groups listed alphabetically):
