Different Night, Different Looks: Thursday afternoon Head Coach Rod Brind'Amour said that tonight's expected roster (listed below) will be "a big group of young guys". Jamieson Rees and Jack Drury are two younger players who did a nice job of making themselves seen on Tuesday, now we'll have a chance to see who else can make the most of that opportunity. Perhaps it will be another shining night from Rees and/or Drury. Or, maybe another one of the prospects will catch eyes.
Green Light for Jarvis:Subsequent to sharing the news of a youthful lineup, the head coach then shared that Seth Jarvis has the go ahead. The club's first round pick in 2020 has battled an injury in camp but appears to be hours away from playing in his first NHL action of any kind. A skilled and scoring right-handed shot, Jarvis possesses the ability to play both center and wing.
Good Housekeeping:Despite the two-goal exhibition victory Tuesday, it wasn't all roses in the eyes of Brind'Amour. After the contest when selecting an area that he'd like to see his team perform better at, he indicated clearing out of the defending zone quicker was needed.
"There were a couple chances that we gave up where we had the puck in our own end and then it didn't get out when it was on our sticks. It's an old cliché, but it has to get out. It leads to something that leads to something and then a guy blocking a shot shouldn't have to."
Understandable after allowing 37 shots.
