Englund, 30, skated in three games with the Nashville Predators during the 2025-26 season, recording two penalty minutes, two shots and four hits in 8:49 average time on ice. The 6-foot-4, 200-pound defenseman spent the majority of the 2025-26 campaign with the American Hockey League’s Milwaukee Admirals, logging 13 points (3-10-13), a plus-four rating and 65 penalty minutes in 52 games. Englund split the 2024-25 season between the Los Angeles Kings and Predators, notching three points (1-2-3) and 48 penalty minutes in 35 games. Originally selected by the Ottawa Senators in the second round (40th overall) of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft, Englund has collected 20 points (2-18-20) and 190 penalty minutes in 200 regular-season games with the Senators, Colorado Avalanche, Chicago Blackhawks, Kings and Predators since 2016-17. Englund has also totaled 62 points (13-49-62) and 475 penalty minutes in 352 AHL games with the Binghamton/Belleville Senators, Colorado Eagles and Admirals.
A native of Stockholm, Sweden, Englund made his professional debut with Djurgårdens IF, registering 13 points (5-8-13) and 82 penalty minutes in 114 games from 2013-16. Englund also had 10 points (5-5-10) and 28 penalty minutes in 37 games with Djurgårdens IF’s under-20 squad, in addition to 13 points (4-9-13) and 52 penalty minutes in 60 games at the under-18 level. On the international stage, Englund captained Sweden at the 2016 IIHF World Junior Championship, picking up two assists and 10 penalty minutes in seven games. He also recorded two penalty minutes in seven appearances at the 2015 IIHF World Junior Championship. Englund tallied a plus-six rating and six penalty minutes at the 2014 IIHF World Under-18 Championship and logged two points (1-1-2) in four games at the 2013 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament. Englund won a gold medal at the 2013 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge, finishing with six penalty minutes in six games.
