GAME 1: FREE GAME FOR KIDS PRESENTED BY HIGHMARK

The Pittsburgh Penguins will kick off the 2022 preseason on Sunday, September 25 at 1:00 PM against the Columbus Blue Jackets with their 10th annual "Free Game for Kids", presented by Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield. Fans in the U.S. will have the chance to watch the 'Free Game for Kids' via a live stream on

As part of the festivities, the team will donate over 18,000 tickets for this game to various youth organizations throughout the region, including several amateur hockey programs, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Pennsylvania and Pittsburgh Public Schools families. Youth will be incorporated into the game presentation throughout the afternoon, and there will be multiple DICK'S Sporting Goods Jr. Starters of the Game that will represent various facets of Pittsburgh youth hockey.

GAME 2: PRESEASON GAME AT COLUMBUS

The second game of the split-squad contest against Columbus is on Sunday, September 25 at 7:00 PM. The matchup will also be streamed on the Penguins' website. Only fans who live in the US will be able to access the streams.

PENGUINS PRESEASON VS. CBJ

Last season, the Penguins went a perfect 4-0-0 against the Blue Jackets, which gives Pittsburgh a 13-2-0 record against Columbus dating back to the beginning of the 2017-18 campaign. The last time the two teams met, five different goal-scorers helped the Penguins to a 5-3 victory on April 29th in Pittsburgh.
