The 28-year-old, who can become an unrestricted free agent July 1, elected not to sign a contract with the Senators and Ottawa has decided to deal him, according to multiple reports, before the NHL Trade Deadline on Monday at 3 p.m. ET. Duchene has 10 points (six goals, four assists) in the past seven games and 21 points (12 goals, nine assists) in his past 17.
Goalie Cory Schneider will start for the Devils, who have won two of their past three games. Schneider is 2-0-0 with a .980 save percentage in his past two decisions.
Anders Nilsson starts in goal for Ottawa.
