He was recalled from Belleville of the American Hockey League on Jan. 6, 2018, and scored his first goal exactly one month later in a 5-3 victory against the New Jersey Devils.

In his first full season with Ottawa, White recorded 14 goals and 41 points in 71 games. He followed that up by scoring 23 points (seven goals, 16 assists) in 61 games in 2019-20.
The Boston native played two seasons, 2013-14 and 2014-15, with USA Hockey's National Team Development Program before going to Boston College, where he had 76 points (34 goals, 42 assists) in 72 games. He was named the 2016 Hockey East Rookie of the Year and selected to the Second All-Star Team.
White's biggest moments so far have come playing for the United States in international competition. He scored seven goals in seven games to help the U.S. win the gold medal at the 2017 IIHF World Junior Championship, and won bronze medals in 2016 and 2018. In 2015, he scored the game-winning goal in overtime against Finland to lift the U.S. to the gold medal at the IIHF Under-18 Championship.
