RALEIGH, NC. - Carolina Hurricanes netminder Frederik Andersen will make his return to the crease on Thursday as the Montreal Canadiens come to PNC Arena.
Just 122 days after being diagnosed with blood-clotting issues, the 34-year-old netminder was activated from injured reserve this afternoon, clearing the way for his return.
Rod Brind'Amour announced pre-game that he'll have the net this evening for the first time since November 2.
Before being forced out of the lineup, Andersen was 4-1 in six games to start the season. Allowing just 15 goals in those games, he is 60-26-4 in three seasons with the team.
His .914 save percentage over the last three seasons ranks tied for seventh among all NHL netminders.
In front of Andersen, the group is not expected to make any changes to their lineup.
The team placed Tony DeAngelo, Brendan Lemieux, and Antti Raanta on waivers earlier today.
