The veteran forward took the place of Steven Lorentz at morning skate, working alongside Jordan Martinook and Martin Necas. This was just one of several swaps among the forward combinations, with the only line remaining intact being Jordan Staal's trio.
Jesperi Kotkaniemi was also on the ice with the team, although he was dressed in a yellow no-contact jersey. Following skate Rod Brind'Amour said that he does not expect #82 to play during the team's three-game home stand that begins tonight, but it was a good sign that he was out there and moving around.
On defense no changes are expected, although an update on that front also became available. Brind'Amour said that Ethan Bear is now healthy after suffering a lower-body injury last Monday in Washington and the coaching staff is debating on when to get him back in.
In net, Antti Raanta was in the starter's crease for the group. Raanta is 11-4-4 this season, with a 2.39 goals against average (GAA) and a .917 save percentage (SV%).
