RALEIGH, N.C. - Forward Andrei Svechnikov will try to extend his goal streak to three games on Thursday when the Carolina Hurricanes host the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Scoring on Sunday against Montreal and on Tuesday at Nationwide Arena, his 27 goals this season trail only Seth Jarvis (30) on the team. His current career-best is 30, which came during the 2021-22 season.
Jarvis, meanwhile, enters the fray with two goals and seven assists dating back to the team's win over Pittsburgh on Mar. 18.
Captain Jordan Staal will also skate in his 1,400th career game. He will become just the sixth active player to hit the milestone, and the 46th all-time.
On the back end, Frederik Andersen was between the pipes to start the day. Looking to get back on track after a pair of tough results against the Montreal Canadiens, the veteran is 13-3-3 in 19 career games against the Blue Jackets.
