Last Time Out...

• The Canes got off to a hot start on Saturday in Dallas, scoring multiple goals in the first period for second straight game.
• Jackson Blake and Sebastian Aho's strikes weren't enough to let Carolina coast to the finish though, as three unanswered goals for Dallas ultimately led them to victory.
• Brandon Bussi made a career-best 31 saves in net during his third NHL start.

Home Cookin'...

• After two weeks on the road, the Canes are set to play in front of their home crowd for the first time in over two weeks.
• Caniacs helped the team start the season 2-0 at home, off to a tremendous start after going 31-9-1 at Lenovo Center last season.

Getting Healthier...

• The injury bug bit hard during the team's road trip, leading to six lineup regulars - William Carrier, Shayne Gostisbehere, Pyotr Kochetkov, K'Andre Miller, Eric Robinson, and Jaccob Slavin - missing time. With those mainstays sidelined, rookies Alexander Nikishin, Charles Alexis Legault, Joel Nystrom, and Bradly Nadeau stepped up in a big way.
• At least one of those injured players could be back in the lineup tonight, though, as Rod Brind'Amour said on Monday that Gostisbehere and Kochetkov are right on the cusp of being available again. If not tonight, the two could return on Thursday versus New York.

Streaking Seabass...

• Forward Sebastian Aho enters tonight's game with an eight-game point streak to start the season.
• The eight-game season-opening streak is the third-longest in franchise history, trailing only Ron Francis (11 games) and the 12-game run Aho had to start the 2018-19 season.

In Net...

• With Frederik Andersen getting the night off on Saturday and having two days of rest since, the Canes could go back to their ace in net for this heavyweight matchup. The 36-year-old is 4-1-0 on the season, with a stout .915 SV% and 2.56 GAA.
• However, if Pyotr Kochetkov is ready, he could see his first action since Oct. 4's exhibition finale in Nashville.
• Should the Canes elect to go with Brandon Bussi, it would be his fourth NHL start. The 27-year-old backstopped wins over the Sharks and Kings to start the road trip, before suffering his first NHL defeat on Saturday in Dallas.

On The Other Side...

• Coming to Raleigh for the third game in a three-game road trip, the Golden Knights took losses in a weekend back-to-back against Florida teams.
• Despite the defeats, Jack Eichel still remains tied for the league lead in scoring, posting 16 points in nine games.
• The group is missing two key pieces at the moment though, with starting goaltender Adin Hill and veteran forward Mark Stone both out due to injury.

Injury Updates...

• Forward Eric Robinson (upper-body) left the game on Oct. 23 and did not return. Rod Brind'Amour said on Oct. 27 that the forward does not need surgery, but will still be out for "a long time."
• Forward William Carrier (lower-body injury) left the game on Oct. 23 and did not return. Alongside Robinson, Rod Brind'Amour said on Oct. 27 that he also does not need surgery, but will still be out for "a long time."
• Defenseman K'Andre Miller (lower-body injury) took warmups before the game on Oct. 23, but was unable to play in the game. Rod Brind'Amour said on Oct. 27 that he is "around the corner" from returning.
• Defenseman Shayne Gostisbehere (lower-body injury) "tweaked something" in Los Angeles on Saturday, Oct. 18. He returned to practice on Oct. 27 and could return to the lineup as soon as tonight.
• Defenseman Jaccob Slavin (lower-body injury) will be "out for a while," as of Oct. 14. He was placed on IR on Oct. 21 and, as of Oct. 27, was "still a ways away" from returning.
• Goaltender Pyotr Kochetkov (lower-body injury) suffered an injury in practice on Oct. 6. He was placed on IR on Oct. 13. He returned to practice on Oct. 27, and Rod Brind'Amour said he may return "very, very soon."
