Kraken Last Game: 5-1 Win over the Vancouver Canucks on Saturday, Feb. 28

Last Time Out...

  • The Canes recorded a fifth straight win on Saturday, taking down the Red Wings by a score of 5-2.
  • Aside from a brief stretch at the end of the second period, Rod Brind'Amour's squad was in control for most of the contest.
  • Shayne Gostisbehere and Taylor Hall had a goal and two assists each, and Frederik Andersen earned the victory in net with 27 saves.

Season Series vs. SEA...

  • Jan. 10: Carolina scored twice in the final 10 minutes to take a 3-2 victory from Seattle at Lenovo Center.

Stacking Points...

  • The Canes have earned points in 12-straight games (10-0-2), tying their fourth longest points earned streak in franchise history and their longest since Jan. 12 - Feb. 1, 2023 (17 games; 15-0-2).
  • The team's last regulation loss was Jan. 13 in St. Louis, when they were held off the scoreboard by the Blues (3-0 L).

Hallsy Is Hot...

  • Arriving at the contest after back-to-back multi-point outings, Taylor Hall has been on fire.
  • Following up his goal and an assist on Thursday against Tampa with a three-point showing in the win over Detroit, Rod Brind'Amour has been singing the praises of Hall's line, which also includes Logan Stankoven and Jackson Blake, calling them the team's best line after both victories.
  • Hall's 14 goals and 32 points this season both sit seventh on the team.

In Net...

  • With Frederik Andersen picking up the win on Saurday, it feels likely tonight will be Brandon Bussi's turn.
  • Bussi has won eight consecutive starts and is now a stellar 24-3-1 on the season.  The Kraken are one of 10 NHL teams that the 27-year-old has not yet faced.
  • Conversely, should the Canes go back to Andersen, he'd be looking to pick up at least a point for a seventh consecutive start.  He is 3-0-3 in his last six appearances.

On The Other Side...

  • After dropping their first two games back from break, the Kraken picked up an important divisional win over Vancouver on Saturday.  Goaltender Joey Daccord made 26 saves in the victory and has now won six of his last seven starts.
  • Captain Jordan Eberle, who leads the team in scoring this year with 41 points in 57 games, had two goals and an assist.
  • On the season as a whole, Seattle has struggled scoring at times.  Despite currently being in a playoff spot, their 2.85 goals per game average sits 25th among all NHL teams.  Their penalty kill has struggled too, killing off just 71.8% of their infractions (31st - NHL).
