Get Prepared: What You Need to Know About Opening Night at PNC Arena

Parking, promotions and all of what to expect for the team's regular season opener Thursday

RALEIGH, NC - Coming to PNC Arena tomorrow night? Have questions on what to expect? We can help.

Parking: If you haven't yet, make plans to carpool and arrive early. It is going to be a sold-out crowd and as we try to make to make things flow as smoothly as possible for you, we ask for your patience and understanding in knowing that it is also the first night of the North Carolina State Fair.

Lots will open at 4 p.m. and those driving are encouraged to enter the lots by way of Edwards Mill Rd. or Westchase Blvd.


South Plaza Party: As a reward for arriving early, the team will be hosting a Party on the Plaza, starting at 4:30 p.m. There will be a red carpet, a live DJ, plus Take Warning Balloons for a photo opportunity, as well as a 360-photo station.

R&D Brewing will have a mobile setup and there will be free Canes souvenir beer steins, while supplies last.

In addition to 99.9 The Fan broadcasting live, Bally Sports will have their pregame show outside, beginning at 6 p.m.


Doors: Doors will open at 5:30 p.m.

Please note that this is a special time and during all other regular season games, doors will open 60 minutes prior to puck drop.


Ticketing: All entry into PNC Arena will be through mobile ticketing this year. Please be sure to have your tickets prepared for the arena staff before reaching the front of the line.

Mask Policy: Fans are required to wear a mask inside the building at all times, except when actively eating or drinking. All are also required to complete their health screening survey online prior to entry by visiting


Bag Policy: PNC Arena has announced they will continue with their Clear Bag Policy, with a few minor adjustments. Clutch-sized bags (4.5" x 6.5") will be allowed into the building without having to go through X-Ray machine. They will still be searched at the walk-through metal detectors you will no longer have to wait in the X-Ray machine lines.

Clear bags, diaper bags or medically necessary bags will still be allowed into the facility, however, you will have to go through the X-Ray machine process prior to entry. All other bags must be returned to your vehicles, as there will no longer be a courtesy bag check.


T-Shirts: All fans in attendance will have a t-shirt draped on their seat courtesy of PNC Bank.  

These will not be available for retail sale during or after the game.

Shirts will be tiered by a different color in each section, according to the following:

100 Level - Red Shirt

200 Level - White Shirt

300 Level - Black Shirt

All shirts will be a size XL.
