RALEIGH, NC - Don Waddell, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League's Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has reached an agreement on a two-year extension with Capitol Broadcasting Company to keep 99.9 FM The Fan as the flagship station of the Hurricanes Radio Network. The agreement continues the Hurricanes' and The Fan's partnership through the 2021-22 NHL season.

"Capitol Broadcasting has been a valuable partner for the Hurricanes for nearly 15 years, and we are pleased 99.9 The Fan will remain as the radio home for Hurricanes broadcasts," said Waddell.

Under the terms of the extension, 99.9 The Fan will continue to carry a simulcast of Fox Sports Carolina's television broadcast of Hurricanes games. The Fan will also continue to produce ancillary Hurricanes programming, including its pre- and post-game shows, Storm Watch and Aftermath, surrounding each game.

"We are excited to continue our broadcasting and community partnership with the Carolina Hurricanes," said Brian Maloney, vice president of radio at Capital Broadcasting. "We look forward to another two years of great games on all our audio platforms."
