The Pittsburgh Penguins have recalled forward Josh Archibald from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League, it was announced today by executive vice president and general manager Jim Rutherford.
Archibald, 24, has shuttled between Pittsburgh and WBS on several occasions the past two months, skating in five NHL games. He scored his first two NHL goals on Feb. 11 in Arizona.
At the AHL level, Archibald has career highs in goals (16), assists (13), points (29) and plus-minus (+25) in 61 games with WBS, putting the team on the verge of extending the AHL's longest consecutive playoff streak to 15 years.
Pittsburgh begins its final homestand of the 2016-17 regular season on Sunday when the Penguins host the Carolina Hurricanes at 5:00 PM at PPG Paints Arena. Tuesday night's 7:00 PM meeting with Columbus, a potential opening-round playoff preview, is the team's annual Fan Appreciation Night, with 23 lucky fans winning the "Shirts Off Our Backs".
