Forward Josh Archibald was among a host of players who stepped in and played small but important roles for the Pittsburgh Penguins in their second straight run to the Stanley Cup in 2017.
The son of former Minnesota North Stars forward Jim Archibald was a star at Brainerd High School in Minnesota before spending three seasons with the University of Nebraska-Omaha, where he scored 29 goals as a junior in 2013-14. The Penguins, who had selected him in the sixth round (No. 174) in the 2011 NHL Draft, signed Archibald after his college season ended. After two seasons in the minors, Archibald made his NHL debut with Pittsburgh on March 5, 2016, against the Calgary Flames.
