After hot starts fueled a pair of wins on the road, the Canes were once again on their toes to kick off Thursday's affair. K'Andre Miller got the party started 78 seconds in, depositing a rebound from the left circle. Carolina's sizzling power play took over from there, as Andrei Svechnikov went back-to-back on the man advantage with goals just 2:14 apart.

Cruising through the first period with a 3-0 lead, the Canes wasted little time tacking on more in the middle frame as Mark Jankowski took the advantage to four at 3:20. Vancouver attempted to interject themselves in the contest with their first goal, but Carolina's offense was far from complete.

A natural hat trick from Stankoven, who struck in three different ways, followed. Including shorthanded and power-play goals before the end of the second stanza, an even-strength tally in the third served as his 100th point in the league and capped his special night.

Another late goal from Vancouver closed out the evening, but at the final horn, it was another victory for Pyotr Kochetkov, who stopped 18 out of 20.

Stats & Standouts

  • Logan Stankoven's first career hat trick came via a shorthanded goal, a power-play goal, and an even-strength goal. He is the fourth player in franchise history to achieve this feat, joining Sebastian Aho (2x - 1/13/19 & 12/7/19), Erik Cole (11/23/02) and Sandis Ozolins (3/4/01).
  • Stankoven's triple marked the NHL’s 15th natural hat trick on record involving an even-strength, power-play and shorthanded goal. The only other player with one over the last five seasons was Bo Horvat (Oct. 16, 2025).
  • Thursday's effort also lifted Stankoven to 100 points in his career.
  • Sean Walker notched his first career four-point night (4A). He had previously reached the three-point plateau once in his career (5/5/21 with LAK).
  • Andrei Svechnikov lit the lamp for the second straight game with his first multi-goal effort of the season, extending his point streak to four games (3G, 3A).
  • Sebastian Aho also boosted his point streak to four consecutive contests (4G, 4A) with an assist. His eight points are tied for the fourth most in team history (since relocation), trailing only himself (10 pts, 2018-19), Ray Whitney (10 pts, 2005-06) and Andrei Svechnikov (9 pts, 2021-22).
  • Jackson Blake picked up a pair of helpers to extend his point streak to four games (5A).
  • Taylor Hall tacked on two assists as well, marking his second consecutive multi-point performance.
  • Mark Jankowski now has goals in back-to-back games.
  • Thanks to K'Andre Miller's first of the season at 1:18, the Hurricanes have tallied within the first three minutes in each of their last three games (also Taylor Hall; 2:25 on Oct. 6 & Sebastian Aho; 0:10 on Oct. 3). Those three goals under that criteria this season lead the League.
  • Carolina's power play went a perfect 3-for-3 against the Canucks. The win marked the fourth straight game in which the team has scored on the power play, notching multiple such tallies in two of those tilts. The Canes' seven man-advantage markers rank second in the league behind Utah (8) at the time of publishing.

They Said It...

Rod Brind'Amour crediting his team for a third consecutive victory...

"We've played a great team game here the last little stretch. We got rewarded for it tonight. Tonight was kind of a weird game, that way. Once it kind of gets out of hand a little, both teams are not really sticking to the way you want to do it, but I like the way we've played here the last few games."

Logan Stankoven after his memorable night…

“It feels awesome. Just preparation and work that I’ve done over the summers (shows). Each year I try and come back and be a bit better version of myself. I think goal-scoring and finishing are something that’s not easy to do in this league, so I’m going to try and continue to work on that. (There were) some great plays by my linemates as well. It was a fun night.”

Andrei Svechnikov talking about having his goal-scoring going early this season…

“It gives you lots of confidence, right away, from the start. (I’m) trying to play hard and play my game. Hopefully, it’ll be staying that way.”

Sean Walker on the team getting back to its game recently...

“I think you're seeing every game we're getting closer and closer back to our style of play and how we wanted to be starting the year, but obviously it wasn't like that. These last couple of games have been more Hurricanes hockey, and when we're doing that, we’re really hard to play against.”
