Media are invited to cover the turkey distribution, which will begin with the delivery of 200 turkeys to Raleigh Rescue Mission at 11:30 a.m. (314 E. Hargett St., Raleigh, NC 27601). Raleigh Rescue Mission will cook and serve the turkeys to individuals and families on Thanksgiving. From there, Cole and Hurricanes staff members will head to Helping Hand Mission at 12:30 p.m. (623 Rock Quarry Rd., Raleigh, NC 27610), where they will deliver an additional 425 turkeys. Helping Hand Mission will distribute the turkeys to members of the community before their Thanksgiving meals at their homes. This marks the eighth year of the Hurricanes' Thanksgiving partnership with Helping Hand Mission and first with Raleigh Rescue Mission. Contributions for the turkeys came from the Hurricanes' Tickets for Turkeys campaign, through which a portion of every ticket sold went toward the purchase of turkeys. Last season, the Tickets for Turkeys campaign donated 450 turkeys to Helping Hand Mission.
