Canes Reassign Fleury to Charlotte

Defenseman played two games after being recalled Feb. 27

RALEIGH, NC - Don Waddell, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League's Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has reassigned defenseman Haydn Fleury to the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Fleury, 22, has tallied five points (2g, 3a) in 22 AHL games with Charlotte this season and one assist in 14 NHL games with Carolina. The 6'3", 208-pound defenseman has registered nine assists in 81 career NHL games and 34 points (11g, 23a) in 95 career AHL games. The Carlyle, Sask., native was drafted by the Hurricanes in the first round, seventh overall, of the 2014 NHL Draft.
