RALEIGH, NC - The National Hockey League today released the 2020-21 regular-season schedules for its 31 member clubs. The Carolina Hurricanes will open the season against the Detroit Red Wings on Thursday, Jan. 14 at Little Caesars Arena. The Hurricanes' home opener at PNC Arena will be on Thursday, Jan. 21 against the Florida Panthers.

Features of the Hurricanes' 2020-21 regular-season schedule:
OPENING ON THE ROAD: The Hurricanes will begin the season on a four-game road trip, marking the longest road trip to start a season since the team began the 2016-17 season on a six-game road trip.
UN-FAMILIAR FOES: Carolina will play the 2020-21 season in the newly-formed Central Division, featuring the Columbus Blue Jackets, Chicago Blackhawks, Dallas Stars, Detroit Red Wings, Florida Panthers, Nashville Predators and Tampa Bay Lightning. The Hurricanes will only play Central Division teams this season. Carolina and Columbus were both in the Metropolitan Division from 2013-20, while Tampa Bay and Florida were in the Southeast Division with the Hurricanes from 1999-2011.
BACK-TO-BACK: The Hurricanes will play 10 sets of back-to-back games in 2020-21.
MAKING A STAND: Carolina's home schedule features three homestands of four games or longer, including a season-long eight-game homestand from April 3 to April 17.
THE CHAMPS ARE HERE: The defending Stanley Cup Champion Tampa Bay Lightning will make their first visit of the season to PNC Arena on Jan. 26. Carolina will face Tampa Bay eight times this season.
ON THE ROAD AGAIN: The Hurricanes road schedule features four road trips of four games or longer, including a pair of six-game road trips.
