Evander, Patrick Kane

TRENDING UP

Chicago Blackhawks -- Elite right wing Patrick Kane is closing in on the top 15 forward rankings after a stretch of 17 points (nine goals, eight assists), including four three-point games, in his past nine games. Center Jonathan Toews rejoins the top 100 forwards this week after scoring eight points (one goal, seven assists), including four power-play assists, in his past seven games. Forward Alex DeBrincat has been producing regardless of lineup placement with 19 points (11 goals, eight assists) in 23 games since Nov. 23. And center Dylan Strome has been fantasy relevant for the first time of his NHL career with 14 points (seven goals, seven assists) and 42 shots on goal in 21 games on a line with mostly Kane since being acquired from the Arizona Coyotes on Nov. 25.
San Jose Sharks -- Coach Peter DeBoer may have finally found the right combinations by splitting up forwards Joe Pavelski, Tomas Hertl and Logan Couture onto three separate lines; the Sharks have gone 5-1-0 in their past six games with 29 goals in the span. The longtime duo of Pavelski and center Joe Thornton has been reunited, and left wing Evander Kane is one of the biggest risers in this week's forward rankings with his usual category coverage and recent success on Hertl's line. Forwards Joonas Donskoi (with Hertl, Kane), who has eight points (six goals, two assists) in his past nine games after scoring a goal against the Los Angeles Kings on Monday, and Lukas Radil (with Couture, Timo Meier) are worth streaming with even-strength exposure to valuable forwards and surging defensemen Erik Karlsson and Brent Burns.

TRENDING DOWN

Ryan Getzlaf, ANA-- The Anaheim Ducks have lost eight straight games, and Getzlaf's fantasy value has taken a sizable hit over the span. Getzlaf has no goals, one assist and is minus-12 during the losing streak, and Anaheim's struggles mounted in a 4-0 home loss to the Edmonton Oilers on Sunday. One glimmer of hope for the Ducks is the upcoming return of forward Rickard Rakell (ankle), who has 20 points (five goals, 15 assists) in 30 games on mostly Getzlaf's wing but hasn't played since Dec. 5.
Rookie class-- Vancouver Canucks center Elias Pettersson sprained his knee and is expected to be out at least one week. Pettersson is the clear Calder Trophy favorite at the midway point of the season with nearly double the points (42 points in 38 games) of Ottawa Senators center Colin White (25 in 42 games; second among rookies). Rookie wings Andrei Svechnikov (Carolina Hurricanes) and Brady Tkachuk (Senators) continue to fall in the top 100 forward rankings, and wing Andreas Johnsson (Toronto Maple Leafs) only remains in the "just missed" section because of his placement on a line with elite center Auston Matthews.
