Selected by the Florida Panthers in the third round (No. 64) of the 2011 NHL Draft, Trocheck led the Ontario Hockey League with 109 points (50 goals, 59 points) in 63 games in 2012-13, splitting the season between Saginaw and Plymouth.
Trocheck became a full-time NHL player in 2015-16 and scored 53 points (25 goals, 28 assists) in 76 games, helping the Panthers win the Atlantic Division. He set NHL career highs in goals (31), assists (44) and points (75) in 2017-18.
