The Panthers are coming off a 4-1 home victory against the Edmonton Oilers on Thursday that gave them their first back-to-back wins of the season. Mike Hoffman had two assists to extend his point streak to 10 games, the longest active streak in the NHL.
Roberto Luongo will start against the Islanders after making 26 saves against the Oilers.
The Islanders will be looking to end a two-game losing streak (0-1-1), which has come after a five-game winning streak.
Hoffman scored 33 seconds into overtime when the Panthers defeated the Islanders 3-2 at Barclays Center on Oct. 24.

Status report

Trotz declined to reveal his lineup or starting goalie, but Beauvillier was moved from the second to the fourth line during practice Friday. … The Panthers will go with the same lineup they used against Edmonton. Pysyk will miss his eighth consecutive game even though he was cleared Thursday to return from an upper-body injury.
