A native of Red Deer, Alberta, Sceviour was a fourth-round pick (No. 112) of the Dallas Stars in the 2007 NHL Draft and made his NHL debut at the age of 21 on Feb. 5, 2011. But he played 28 games over the next three seasons, spending most of his time with Texas of the American Hockey League, where he scored 99 goals and 240 points in 348 games.

But he played 28 games over the next three seasons, spending most of his time with Texas of the American Hockey League, where he scored 99 goals and 240 points in 348 games.
Things changed dramatically for Sceviour when he made the Stars out of training camp for the 2014-15 season. He played 71 games each of the next two seasons, averaged more than 12 minutes of ice time per game and scored a combined 20 goals and 49 points, working on both the power play and the penalty kill.
After seven seasons in the Stars organization, Sceviour signed two-year, $1.9 million contract with the Florida Panthers on July 1, 2016.
