The alternate captain has been out of action since suffering a lower-body injury on Friday, May 6, in Game 3 of the Boston series.
"I'm gonna be physical, I'm going to bring energy, I'm going to be tenacious and hopefully that can be a bit of a spark," Martinook offered when speaking with reporters after morning skate.
"He's an energy guy and you can never have enough of that," Rod Brind'Amour offered on him.
Martinook was in place of Steven Lorentz, who had been in the lineup since Game 7 of the Boston series, during line rushes this morning. Lorentz took a two-minute fighting instigator and a 10-minute misconduct in addition to five-minute major after sticking up for teammate Max Domi Tuesday.
Outside of that, no other changes were evident for the Canes.
Antti Raanta was in the starter's crease once again while Pyotr Kochetkov and Frederik Andersen rotated at the other end of the ice. Raanta's .931 postseason save percentage ranks tied for third among all remaining active goalies in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
